The Senegalese star Sadio Mane revealed that he did not expect to move to Liverpool in 2016, indicating that he was thinking that his next step after Southampton would be to join Manchester United.
Mane told the British newspaper "Times" that the German coach, Juergen Klopp, had previously refused to sign him, while the latter was a coach for the German Prussia Dortmund, pointing out that he did not expect Klopp to ask him to be included in the Reds.
He added: "It was a difficult time for me, I was sitting on the bench, and I didn't expect a team to ask me, but I was happy when Klopp did that, and he didn't think I was a rapper."
