StFF has made the decision after contacting experts and managers from the Public Health Authority and Smittskydd Stockholm regarding the corona pandemic.

“After talking with these, our assessment is that it is clear that our football operations do not contribute to the spread of infection other than possibly marginally. It has also been shown that there is no difference between training and competition matches and that the close contact that football entails is clearly manageable, ”writes StFF on its website.

Last week, the Public Health Authority first advised against playing training and competition matches in football. You then opened up for matches that gather less than 50 people, if you otherwise follow the general advice to limit the spread of infection. Something that StFF clarifies.

"However, it is obviously important that no one plays with symptoms," the union writes.

The government has previously banned public gatherings of more than 50 people. Audience events such as Allsvenskan, Superettan and Damallsvenskan have not yet started their series.
