Real Madrid announced this Wednesday in a statement that the players and coaches of the first soccer and basketball teams together with the main executives of the different directions of the club have agreed to voluntarily lower their remuneration for this year between 10% and 20%, "depending on the circumstances that may affect the closure of this sports season 2019-20".
According to the white club, the decision, adopted by players, coaches and employees, "avoids traumatic measures that affect the rest of the workers, in addition to contributing to the entity's economic objectives in view of the decrease in income that it suffers these months as a result of the suspension of competitions and the suspension of a large part of its commercial activities ".
Real Madrid also reports that the club's Works Committee "emphatically endorses" this decision, which it considers responsible and exemplary.
Finally, the club concludes with a message of "love and solidarity" to those who have suffered the direct consequences of the coronavirus, "especially to those who have lost a family member or a loved one."
