• Antic. Dies at 71, the only one who led Madrid, Atlético and Barcelona

Atlético de Madrid announced on Wednesday afternoon the death of Miguel Jones, at 81 years of age.

The legendary Guinea-born rojiblanco forward played eight seasons at the club and played 129 official games, forming part of a well-remembered team in the 1960s.

Coming from Indutxu (he also played later in Osasuna), he debuted in October 1959 with Atlético. In his rojiblanco journey he scored 50 goals and won five titles: LaLiga 1965/66, three Cups (1960, 1961 and 1965) and the historic Recopa del 62 against Fiorentina, in which he authored one of the goals in the final.

Jones' death is another serious blow to the rojiblanca family, who lost Radomir Antic last Monday. And just a few days ago, another historical one like Capón.
