Egyptian Ahly captain Hossam Ashour asked 20 million pounds to agree to the club’s management’s request to retire at the end of the season.

The journalist, Ahmed Schubert, revealed that Hossam Ashour stipulated, during his last meeting with the club's president, Mahmoud Al-Khatib, to obtain 20 million pounds to agree to the club's request to retire, which was rejected by Al-Khatib, and stressed the difficulty of achieving it.

Schubert added: "Al-Ahly notified Hosam Ashour of setting up a retirement match for him, and arranging a job for him inside the club, whether it was technical or administrative, and allowing him also to work inside the channel."

The Egyptian media explained: "Ashour started not convinced of Al-Ahly's view until now, but he also does not have any real or serious offers, stressing in the same context that Zamalek," the traditional rival of Al-Ahly, "did not enter into any negotiations with the player as it was recently rumored.

Al-Ahly told its captain Hossam Ashour that the Swiss coach, Feiler, did not want to renew his contract because it was difficult for him to get the chance to play with the team in the future.
