The coronavirus pandemic has knocked out global sport, but one discipline may be able to rise before the bell rings: MMA. UFC boss Dana White says he is about to privatize an island to fight there.

"I'm a day or two away from securing a private island ... We are setting up the infrastructure now, so I'm going to start doing international fights too," he told TMZ. "The fight is signed and will be 100% live on ESPN somewhere on Earth," also tweeted White, referring to the fight between Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson and more generally at UFC 249.

The boss of the UFC ensures that all those involved in the fights - and not just the athletes - will be subjected to a medical examination.
