The proposal would apply to 19 of the 20 Serie A clubs, the league announced. Juventus has previously entered into an agreement with its players, which means that the players waive four monthly salaries, but if the season resumes, there will only be two monthly salaries.

"The desire to overload the financial damage that this crisis situation has caused to the players makes us reflect on the credibility of those who are going to god football during these difficult times," the players' union wrote in a press release.

Serie A has been shut down since the Italian government shut down the country almost a month ago.

Twelve rounds remain of the season, which was canceled on February 22.

At least 15 Series A players have been tested positive for the corona vision.
