In April 2016, Denise Herrmann announced that she will leave cross-country skiing and start biathlon instead. Then she was 27 years old.

Two weeks ago, Stina Nilsson made the same choice. The 26-year-old switched to biathlon.

In an interview with Expressen, Denise Herrmann gives some advice.

"Must fight day after day"

- You have to fight day after day. Nobody knows if it will work initially. But you have to believe in yourself. All the time, the German tells the newspaper.

- I can only say it was tough all the time. I mean, sometimes you got the shooter to work one day - just because the next day nothing worked. And you didn't know why.

Herrmann believes that Nilsson should not set too high goals initially.

- I do not think it is so smart to have the goal of winning a World Cup already the first season. She must be prepared that, in the beginning, maybe not everything will go as well as she hopes, says Herrmann.
