The management of the Al-Ahly club of Egypt started moving aggressively to conclude a mass-caliber deal to compensate the departure of its international player, Ahmed Fathi, to Pyramids. The media, Ahmed Shouber, revealed that the Tunisian back star, the coastal star, Wagdy Sherida, and the Sudanese Athar Al-Taher, who plays in the same position, is one of Al Ahly's top priorities for contracting with one of them in the summer transfers.

On the other hand, Wakil Al-Taher revealed that he had already received oral communications from the Egyptian soccer poles, Al-Ahly and Zamalek, to sign the Sudanese Al-Hilal defender, indicating that negotiations are only preliminary until now. Domestically, Al-Ahly moved towards a contract with a local right back, and the names revolve in the orbit of the former Zamalek player, Omar Jomaa, the Pyramids club player, and his teammate, Rajab Bakkar, and the Egyptian player Karim Al-Taher.

Fathi had refused to extend his contract with Al-Ahly of Egypt for 23 million Egyptian pounds for two seasons, and preferred to leave for the Pyramids Club, which presented him with a 45-million-pound financial offer to sign in three seasons.
