Former Argentine Manchester United and Carlos City striker Carlos Tevez believes soccer players should do more than waive part of their salaries.
"Any footballer can live six months or a year without receiving a wage, we may not set an example in some areas, but not in such circumstances," Tevez said in televised remarks.
He explained that professional footballers are living in better conditions than a large group of people forced to leave their homes daily in search of a livelihood.
He pointed out that these people are the most affected by the curfews due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, and called for assistance to be directed to them.
"Of course I will gladly go and help provide food for these people or do anything else," said the current Argentine club, Boca Juniors.
The Argentine scorer, on the other hand, talked about the clubs and their required role during this crisis, and said, "Clubs must do everything to support their societies."
A number of football stars, led by Argentine Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, have come to provide aid and donate important sums of money to support the care efforts and to ensure the victims of the Corona virus.
