When SSL women were suspended, the Swedish floor association (SIBF) made the decision to move down the two teams that were under the line.

One of the teams was the Umeå team Dalen who had two points up to safe ground with two laps left.

Today, the Umeå team appealed SIBF's decision to the Riksidrotssnämnden (RIN).

- I have full understanding that Dalen and certainly many others are also not happy with the situation and neither are we. We would have liked to see everyone play clearly and everyone who would qualify had qualify, says Bergendahl,

Responds to criticism

The valley, among other things, means in its appeal that you have not been given a sporting chance and that you could have made exceptions which, among other things, the handball and the volleyball's supreme power have made.

- I make no assessment of the sporting opportunity. And it has not been discussed at all which associations leave or stay, but we have only looked at the rules and tried to create a holistic view from the federal series and downwards, says the SIBF chairman.

The Swedish Indoor Association's decision was made following an investigation made by the competition committee. A committee where both the elite team and SIBF are represented.

- The issue of extending SSL (before the corona eruption) has been up a couple of times at the competition congress and voted down each time, it does not feel like it would have made sense, says the chairman and clarifies:

The valley does not think you got any sporting justice, how do you look at it?

- I don't think you can talk about justice in these times. The corona epidemic is not fair. It does not strike fairly, some lose their loved ones, some get to work very hard, there is no justice in this. For our part, it was about making a decision that was as thoughtful as possible with the situation we had and the rules we have and we think that we have done.
