The management of the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club decided to freeze its international player, Ahmed Fathi, until the end of the season, after the player refused to extend his contract with the club for two seasons according to what was agreed orally between the two parties, and his decision to leave the pyramids club owned by the Emirati businessman, Salem Al Shamsi.

In spite of the Egyptian Al-Ahly, he issued a statement in which he wished success to the player in his next career, but the administration decided that Ahmed Fathi would not participate in the team’s matches in the semi-final round of the African League Championship, and the date is suspended against Wydad Casablanca, and local competitions if a decision is issued by the Egyptian state Spherical activity returns and stops due to corona virus.

Ahmed Fathi had rejected an offer from Al-Ahly for two seasons in exchange for 23 million Egyptian pounds, which is the highest financial value obtained by a player in the club, while exempting him from the clause of linking his annual salary to participate in the matches.

"Fathi" preferred the Pyramids offer, which he signed for three seasons for 45 million pounds.
