The German newspaper "Bild" reported that the accident occurred because of the sudden deviation of the car as a result of defective tires and due to rain, which caused material damage amounting to more than 25 thousand euros. She said Boateng narrowly escaped the serious accident, and sustained no major injuries.
Boateng obtained special permission from his club to break the quarantine, and go to the hospital to check on his son Germar, who has been undergoing treatment for one of the hospitals.
