It was only a goodbye. After joining Montauban this season in Pro D2, Jean Bouilhou will make his return to Stade Toulousain. The former 41-year-old third line will lead the fronts in place of Régis Sonnes (47), who leaves the champion club of France where he arrived in 2018. Bouilhou has signed up for the next three years.

Four-time winner of the Brennus Shield and three-time European champion with Toulouse, Bouilhou joined the club staff in 2016 to take care of the touches.

Two years later, the international at the two selections had become the Stade Toulousain hopes coach alongside his former teammate Clément Poitrenaud, while retaining his role for the sidelines.

A fleeting double with Jeff Dubois

Last summer, after the twentieth title of champion of France of the club, Bouilhou had joined in Montauban another of his ex-colleagues in Red and Black, Jean-Frédéric "Jeff" Dubois, as co-coach in charge of the forwards.

Like all competitions in France and a large part of the world, the Top 14 and the Pro D2 are stopped for an indefinite period because of the coronavirus epidemic.
