The news agency Reuters writes that there are ongoing discussions about what date the Summer Olympics will be held, and a decision can be made this week.

As early as this weekend, Japanese media stated that the Olympics will be held July 23 - August 8 next year, which in that case only differs one day from the dates that originally applied if the Tokyo Olympics could have been decided this summer.

It was on March 24 that it was confirmed that this summer's games were postponed due to the corona pandemic.

"This is about saving lives," said IOK chairman Thomas Bach according to TT.

The name of the next Olympics will still be called Tokyo 2020, says Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike according to Reuters.
