An official in the Austrian Red Bull team participating in the Formula One World Championship admitted that he proposed intentionally transmitting the infection of the newly infected Corona virus to the drivers to vaccinate them at the beginning of the season, without receiving his strategy.

Helmut Marco, 76, who is in charge of the team’s driver development program, explained on Sunday to the Austrian “ORF” channel, that he had proposed “setting up a camp so that drivers could be infected with the virus,” noting that this proposal included four drivers in Formula One, And about ten drivers are young men.

"They are in excellent health and in this way they will be ready to start the season," he added, noting that his idea "was not very well received."

The spread of "Covid-19" postponed the start of the 2020 season in the world championship, while the Bahrain, Vietnam, China, Netherlands, Spain and Azerbaijan races were postponed, and the Australian (inaugural) and Monaco races were canceled.

So far, the first race on the website of the tournament remains, the Canada Grand Prix set at the Jill Villeneuve circuit on June 14, while the season was supposed to start on March 15 at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, Australia.

And Marco criticized last week his government's decision to impose housekeeping measures, as in a large number of countries in the world, to combat the virus outbreak, given its negative economic repercussions. He explained that he was "somewhat surprised" because "people easily accept all decisions taken against their will."

Unnecessary stores, schools, universities and gyms have been closed to the public since mid-March in Austria in an attempt to slow the spread of the new Corona virus, which has so far killed 108 people in the country.
