Slovakian Matej Tóth, 37, is the reigning Olympic champion at 50km walking and finished second at the European Championships in Berlin two years ago.
But now he may quit, after the IOK decided to postpone the Tokyo Olympics for a year.
- Right now I can't imagine that I will be in the Olympics. But it is a decision that I must carefully consider before I make a final decision, he says to the Slovak Olympic Committee's website.
- I don't want to make any hasty decisions. But I will definitely decide during the season.
Thus, Perseus Karlström, who took the World Cup silver for 20 km at the Doha World Cup last year, can avoid a competitor. Although Tóth has its main merits of 50 km, it also has some nice results of 20 km.
