The Corona pandemic has had a major negative effect on the world economy and sports are far from spared.

In order to alleviate the financial bleeding and save their business, several clubs, unions and organizations have chosen to lay off their staff and temporarily lower the salaries of their employees. In the Norwegian Football Association, for example, both Lars Lagerbäck, the men's national team captain, and Martin Sjögren, the women's national team, agreed to lower their salary by 20 percent from 1 April.

However, something similar is not going on for the Swedish federation captains Janne Andersson and Peter Gerhardsson.

"Not recent"

For the Football Channel, Karl-Erik Nilsson explains why.

- Of course, they have a lot of work to do, and every national association must handle different issues based on their conditions. This issue has not been relevant to us, says the union's chairman.

Nor are layoffs intended to be utilized at SvFF in the near future.

- That issue has not yet been raised. But of course, depending on the time aspect, one must of course consider these types of questions as well.

Nilsson continues:

- It has rather been that we have been severely burdened during this period to deal with all issues that have arisen as a result of the crisis. This particular period that has been has been very intense, and for some departments incredibly tough, especially for the competition side.
