Stina Nilsson, 26, burned a bomb in the ski world when she decided to change sports from cross-country to biathlon on Sunday. It was a well-kept secret that only a few knew and the attention was enormous.

- This was much bigger than I might have thought, but it has been received with very positive response. It has been great fun and it feels like there are a lot of people who want to follow my journey, Stina Nilsson told SVT Sport.

It will be part of a new organization, although much is already known from the environment at home at the biathlon and biathlon stadium in Östersund where Malungstjejen Nilsson lives.

"Of course she will be supported"

Lars Markusson, Media Manager at SOK, says that in some way Nilsson will be covered by SOK support.

- It is obvious that she will receive support in her new venture, Stina is one of our best winter athletes of all time - and SOK will be part of that support.

- We think it will be in the form of a special solution, and that dialogue has already begun with Stina, says Markusson to Expressen.

Most of the SOK support for biathlon goes to the biathlon association, which organizes l camps, coaches and coaches for the national team groups. However, Nilsson will start from scratch and it may take time - if she reaches the national team at all.

"World Cup final goal"

- It can be absolutely relevant with a special solution instead, says Thomas Engdahl, sports manager at SOK to Expressen.

Nilsson, Olympic and world champion in cross-country skiing, has himself communicated very modest goals as a biathlete and says that the World Cup is the goal.

- Well, absolutely, that's the end goal. Hopefully I will have a good development curve, but I know it can take time, and I have a lot of time I know, Nilsson told SVT.
