The players and leaders of the German big club Bayern Munich join the ranks of athletes who go down in pay during the current corona crisis.

According to the newspaper Bild, the players and leaders in Bavaria have agreed to lower their wages by 20 percent in order to reduce the club's costs - and avoid an economic crisis - during the absence of matches. Last year, Bavaria's salary costs were astonishing SEK 3.6 billion, which is equivalent to half the club's turnover.

Plan to resume the league on April 2

The players and leaders of Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also willing to lower their wages, Bild writes.

Earlier, players in Mönchengladbach, Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 have accepted salary reductions.

German Bundesliga was paused because of the corona eruption on March 13. The plan is for the league game to resume April 2.
