The IIHF had a crisis meeting together with the member states during the day. And a decision should have been made that there will be no World Cup, but no official statement will come. The reason should be the insurance issue. To the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, however, the IIHF's vice-president confirms that there will be no World Cup this year.

- We are still waiting for the Swiss authorities' decision, but it is already clear: no ice hockey World Cup will be played this spring, Kummola tells Iltalehti.

IIHF now sits with the insurance companies and negotiates what applies.

- Now they are negotiating how to solve the insurance issue. When that is complete, an official statement will come from the IIHF, says Kummola.
