The French team will not play in March - Christophe SAIDI / SIPA

As logical as anecdotal. The French team's friendly matches against Ukraine and Finland, originally scheduled for March 27 and 31, 2020, have been postponed until June due to the coronavirus pandemic. This decision was implemented several hours after the postponement of Euro 2020 to the summer of 2021.

“The French Football Federation fully supports UEFA's decision to postpone Euro-2020 from June 11 to July 11, 2021 and to adapt the formats of European competitions accordingly. The international matches scheduled for March, including the two matches of the French team on March 27 and 31 at the Stade de France, would therefore logically be postponed until June, ”wrote the manager in a press release.

The postponement of the Euro, "a wise decision" according to Le Graët

The Blues were initially to challenge Ukraine on March 27 at Stade de France, then Finland on 31 in Lyon. Faced with the epidemic, the two matches had already been announced behind closed doors, the second being repatriated to Saint-Denis.

“This wise and pragmatic decision by UEFA makes it possible to fully register in the urgency and the priority of collective action to fight against the coronavirus while allowing to consider ending the national professional and amateur championships which could extend until June, ”continued Le Graët. "All options will be studied in order to be reactive when resumption of activities is possible".
