Anna Borgqvist has been and is a leading member of both the national team and the Jönköping Club for a long time.
A lofty goal in Anna Borgqvist's career has been to win an SM gold. This year it looked like she and HV71's big dream would come true, but then the playoffs were canceled - in the middle of the final series.
- We set the points record, won all the playoffs and the first final. I think you should have distributed the gold on those results. You do not want to win gold in that way, but it had felt more fair than we did not get any gold at all. It's brutal, says Anna Borgqvist to the Jönköpings Post.
And right now she sees it as very difficult to come back.
- I am completely mentally exhausted. I don't know if I can handle anymore. I love playing hockey, that's the best thing I know. I moved here to take the gold and finish my education. I'm finished with the education, but I don't have the gold. I feel robbed of the SM gold and have completely lost the hockey for the hockey, says Borgqvist but does not close the door completely but then adds:
- But I hope I can find the motivation again in a few months. But now it's just heavy, she tells the magazine.
