There are many media reports that Lionel Messi, the Barcelona captain, is going to pay four million euros, to help the Brazilian Ronaldinho - his former colleague in Barca - get out of his prison in Paraguay.

The former Brazilian international, who won the World Cup, Champions League, Spanish and Italian leagues, was arrested and imprisoned after he was accused of entering the country with a false passport. The judges also rejected his lawyer’s request to release him on bail.

Media reports have spoken that Ronaldinho could be imprisoned for six months for using a false passport, and added that Messi would appoint four first-degree lawyers to receive the case of his former colleague in the Catalan team and get him out of prison, and this would cost the Argentine international about four million euros.

However, the Catalan newspaper "Sport", close to the "Blaugrana", quoted people close to Messi as saying that the latter feels sympathetic to the situation the player has reached, but he will not help him financially.

It is noteworthy that the court rejected his lawyer’s request, which was submitted last Friday, to release him from prison and put him in detention at home.

The court's refusal increases the chances that Ronaldinho and his brother will be in prison for six months.
