In a turbulent time where the majority of major sporting events are suspended or postponed indefinitely, Björn Eriksson gave some thoughts to youth sports in Sweden.

In Saturday's "Winter Studio" he said:

- 150,000 children exercise every day. What if we don't get it? Will society be happier then? I cannot help but feel that it is important for children to have that option. I think it is dangerous to suffer total shutdown.

Eriksson continues:

- All these cups and youth competitions keep Sweden going. It is the strength of civil society that we have this. If you just turn it off, what happens? There are values in life that are important and sometimes my thoughts go a little extra for that little competition in Åmål or Storuman.

"Youth sports no risk group"

Anders Wallensten, assistant state epidemiologist at the Public Health Authority, was also in the studio.

- Right now in Sweden we are not in the position to shut down small, local competitions or the like. We do not think that is important. Youth sports are not a risk group in that way. For now, we choose to keep all schools open and then it becomes illogical if you can then not have training in progress, he says.
