The 70th FIFA Congress, originally scheduled for June 5, 2020 in Addis Ababa, will finally be held on September 18 in the Ethiopian capital, a postponement linked to the precautions taken around the coronavirus, announced Wednesday the body of world governance of football .

In the same way, the meeting of the Council of Fifa fixed for March 20 will be rescheduled in June or July 2020, "either from the headquarters in Zurich, or by videoconference", it is specified.

In a statement, Fifa recalls that "concerns about the health and well-being of participants, as well as travel restrictions in many countries, have resulted in the cancellation or postponement of many such events in various parts of the world ".
