The British government has said that it currently does not intend to cancel or hold sporting events without an audience for fear of spreading the Corona virus, in contrast to the measures that other countries have been keen to adopt to counter the virus.

Britain's Ministry of Culture, Information and Sports explained that a discussion took place regarding contingency plans to cancel events or set them up behind closed doors "if the situation changes and becomes urgent."

"But based on the current scientific assessment of health experts from the government, there is no rationale for canceling or holding sports events without an audience," she added.

Among the major sporting events scheduled in Britain next month are the Cheltenham Horse Festival, matches in the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League in addition to
Competitions for rugby.

The British Ministry of Health said today that the number of confirmed cases of the new Corona virus in the country has risen to 319, and indicated that three people have died from the disease so far in the country.

The virus, which appeared more than two months ago in China, has already postponed or canceled dozens of competitions and sporting events around the world or held without an audience.
