Therese Johaug was defeated for the first time this season on a distance race.

It was Frida Karlsson who broke the giant - on Norwegian soil.

This after taking in a minute and seven seconds on a mile ride - thanks to a ski change.

Together with Ebba Andersson and Charlotte Kalla, Karlsson was one of the few who changed.

- We agreed to change skis. It is a mental advantage to have that surf. We had a floor plan. Then you get to see how it behaves during the race, says Charlotte Kalla to SVT Sport.

The tactics were talked about already last night.

- It feels really nice to have talked through different scenarios last night. We checked out during the day.

One who regrets not being part of the Swedish tactics meeting was Therese Johaug. She chose to run three miles on the same ski couple.

- I lost 40 seconds in six kilometers. It says something about what I had for skiing, she tells SVT Sport.

Do you regret not switching?

- Yes I should have changed. I should have done it before the last round. Had I lost 20 seconds on the exchange I would have still taken it out in the track. I was told that Ebba and Frida were taking in all the time while my skis were getting worse. I had no chance when Frida came in. Still have to say that it's fun that she got to take her first victory.
