Norwegian super-talent Helene Marie Fossesholm won the mass start over 15 kilometers in freestyle with a margin of one minute and nine seconds. It was her second gold medal during the championship.

- My goal was to take the gold medal and my plan was to go hard straight away. I succeeded, ”she says in her victory interview.

The 18-year-old made her debut in the World Cup this season and finished with a fifth place in the mass start over a 10 kilometer freestyle in Falun.

Best Swedish in sixth place

Behind her was a large cluster for a long time, with Märta Rosenberg, Tove Ericsson and Louise Lindström lying.

But with two kilometers left to leave, Izavela Marcisz, Poland, Siri Wigger, Switzerland, and Patricija Eiduka, Latvia, left the rest of the group behind. The Polish knifed the silver and the Swiss took the bronze medal.

Louise Lindström became the best Swedish in sixth place, 1.28 after Fossesholm. Tove Ericsson finished 10th, Märta Rosenberg finished 13th and Tilde Bångman 44th.
