What: Germany-Sweden, first match of the Algarve Cup in football.

Where: Estádio Algarve, Faro, Portugal.

When: Today at 17.30, Swedish time (16.30 local time).

TV: SVT1 and SVT Play.

The arrangement: The Algarve Cup will last until March 11 and Sweden will play three matches regardless of how things are going against Germany today. In the premiere victory, Norway or Denmark will wait in the semi-finals, and then the final or match will take place in third place. In the event of a loss to Germany, it will instead be placement matches for the Swedish part.

Resistance: Germany has long been Sweden's nightmare opponent. But after eleven championship games without victory, the suite was broken when Sweden beat the Germans in the World Cup quarter-finals last summer. The victory also meant that Sweden qualified for the Tokyo Olympics at the expense of Germany.

- I only have good memories from there. We played a fantastic match and won. It will be fun to see how revenge-ridden Germany is, says CD Tacon's Sofia Jakobsson before the match.

Swedish team: In the absence of World Cup center-backs Linda Sembrant (stopped because of the corona virus) and Nilla Fischer (too little match training), team captain Peter Gerhardsson has to rethink. Chelsea's Magdalena Eriksson and Bayern Munich's Amanda Ilestedt is likely to start as inner backs. In the middle field is the question of 17-year-old Rosengårdstalangen Hanna Bennison gets the confidence in the starting elf.

Debutants: Left back Lotta Ökvist, Manchester United, was called in when Linda Sembrant was stopped from the tournament. This is the first time the 23-year-old has been selected in the A-national team.
