Finally, Real Madrid won a home clasico. Zinedine Zidane's men defeated FC Barcelona 2-0 at the Santiago-Bernabéu stadium on Sunday, closing day 26. Their last success at home against the Catalans in the league dates back to October 25, 2014. This victory built in the second period allows Real to take the lead in La Liga at the expense of Barça.

Madrid residents could however have been taken to the break. Thibaut Courtois had to intervene twice. First by winning his duel against Arthur (33rd), then by diverting a half-volley from Lionel Messi (39th). Earlier, Antoine Griezmann, ideally served by De Jong, had missed the frame at the penalty point. At halftime, Real Madrid is doing well and will take the second half in hand.

A record for Vinicius Junior

After a rescue from Marc-André ter Stegen (56th), then Gerard Piqué against Isco (60th), Vinicius Junior opened the scoring. Thrown in the back of the defense, he comes to beat Ter Stegen closely, well helped by Gerard Piqué whose tackle deflects the trajectory of the ball (71st). With this goal, the Brazilian becomes the youngest goal scorer in the history of the clasico, at 19 years and 233 days. He broke the record of Lionel Messi (19 years old, 259 days) in 2007. The Pulga was also very little in sight in this meeting.

Powerless, Messi and his teammates will then concede a second goal scored by Mariano, just entered the game. On his first ball, the Dominican scored his first goal of the season with a strike in the small net (93rd).

Real had not won against Barça in La Liga in seven oppositions. The "Merengues" double blow by ending this negative series and taking the lead in the championship, with a point ahead of FC Barcelona.
