It's a week that ends better than it started for Real Madrid. Four days after having lost almost all chance of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the C1 by leaving two goals for City at the Bernabeu (1-2), the Merengue regained the lead in La Liga by beating Barça on Sunday evening at home (2 -0).

Definitely very pale outside this season, Messi's teammates came across a good Courtois in the first period before falling apart on the hour under the Madrid dry cleaning. Ter Stegen took a shot from Isco, Piqué saved on the line, Benzema missed a point-blank recovery, but Vinicius ended up scoring on a shot by Piqué.

Barça never really reacted, except on an acceleration of Messi finally taken up by Marcelo under the roars of the Bernabeu. Coming out of the closet, Mariano killed the match in stoppages by playing in a somewhat annoying way with our national Sam Umtiti, preferred to Lenglet by Quique Setien. Not sure we'll see him again next week. Real are now leaders with a point ahead of their opponent in the evening. Hay Liga, as they say there.
