• The IOC opens the door to the cancellation of the Games by the coronavirus

The president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, said he is "totally committed" to the "successful" Olympic Games of Tokyo this year, despite the risk of the coronavirus.

In this regard, in a meeting with Japanese media, confirmed that the Games will be held from July 24 and will not add "fuel to the flames of speculation", after the Japanese authorities confirmed an eighth death from the virus and more than a new dozen infected, bringing the country's total cases to more than 900, most of them from the Diamond Princess cruise.

Consequently, the Japanese government has ordered the temporary closure of all primary and secondary schools starting next Monday, until the end of next March, to contain the spread of 'Covid-19'.
