Some 80 drivers, map readers and teams will be present at the premiere. Some interesting starts include Mattias Ekström, PG Andersson, Mattias Adielsson and home driver Jörgen Jonasson. An all-female team is in the starting field, Jonna Eson Brådhe and the chart reader Julia Thulin.
A news in the rally-SM is that a team championship has been introduced and in Vännäs there are 13 teams competing.
Rally Vännäs is the first of five competitions in the SM series. The first competition, which was to be decided in Sandviken, was canceled.
