After their faux pas against Nantes (1-3) at the Vélodrome last week, Olympique de Marseille reacted Friday at Nîmes and won 3 goals to 2 thanks to a hat-trick from their Argentine striker Dario Benedetto. OM thus consolidates its second place with 11 points ahead of Rennes, the third in the championship.

Surprised by Nantes at the Vélodrome during the previous day (3-1), Olympique de Marseille rebounded well by winning 3-2 at Nîmes thanks to a hat-trick from their Argentinian striker Dario Benedetto on Friday in opening of the 27th day of Ligue 1.

11 points ahead of Rennes

OM thus consolidates its second place, still ten lengths from the Parisian leader, but with an 11-point lead over Rennes (3rd) who moves to Toulouse on Saturday. Nîmes, who had opened the scoring in the 5th minute by Zinédine Ferhat and concluded it with a header from Lucas Deaux in additional time, remains 18th.
