The match-defining goal came in the 60th minute when Adnan Januzaj nodded 1-0 from close range after a post from team captain Mikel Oyarzabel. Just before that, Alexander Isak had a dangerous nod and a seam in front of goal. However, after the 1-0 goal, Isak was left speechless for the second match in a row. In came Willian José, who recently had to settle for the bench.

Adnan Januzaj's goal also became the only match and Real Sociedad thus took his third straight victory in the Spanish league. With the victory, Atlético Madrid was also passed in the table and now Real Sociedad is in third place with the same points as the Madrid team and Sevilla.

In the next round, Alexander Isak and the rest of the team will be given a tough task as Barcelona await away. Atlético Madrid and Seville meet.
