The Brazilian star Neymar filed a lawsuit against his former club Barcelona, and demanded compensation related to a previous dispute with the Tax Authority.

The Spanish newspaper Mundo reported that the current player of Paris Saint-Germain has started the third judicial move against Barcelona since he left the team in the summer of 2017.

She explained that Neymar is asking the Catalan club for 6.5 million euros related to a previous dispute with the Tax Authority over his contract to join the team in 2013.

The Tax Authority considered that the contract to join Neymar to Barcelona from Santos, Brazil, included clauses on the rights of the image, describing them as "hidden resources", which requires the player to submit to a new tax follow-up.

Accordingly, the Tax Authority asked the player to pay 6.5 million euros, and Neymar believes that this amount should be paid by the Barcelona club management.

The newspaper pointed out that the new case raises the amount Neymar claims to obtain to 32.1 million euros.

Neymar had filed two previous cases in which Barcelona was demanding 28.6 million euros, representing a grant related to the renewal of his contract with the Catalan club, in addition to another amount that he says represents wages he did not receive.

The new judicial move raises questions about the future of the relationship between Neymar and his former club in light of talk about Barcelona's attempts to restore his Brazilian star from Saint-Germain, which attempts failed last summer and are expected to be renewed next summer.
