Bayern Munich has to do without Robert Lewandowski for the next four weeks. The Polish striker suffered a shin in the shin in the Champions League match with Chelsea on Tuesday.

Despite the injury, the 31-year-old attacker played the entire game on Stamford Bridge. He was accurate fifteen minutes before the end, setting the final score at 0-3.

An investigation revealed on Wednesday that Lewandowski had a fracture in his left shin, in the part just below the knee. He must be in plaster for at least ten days. Bayern expects him back in four weeks.

Due to the injury he misses the competition duels with TSG Hoffenheim, FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. The cup match with Schalke 04 and the return against Chelsea also pass by the nose of the Pole.

Lewandowski is once again of great value to Bayern this season. He managed to score no less than 25 times in 23 league matches and thus has a significant contribution to the top position in the Bundesliga. Bayern has one point more than number two RB Leipzig.

For the Dutch attacker Joshua Zirkzee, the injury can mean good news. The eighteen-year-old Schiedammer therefore moves up a place in the pecking order. He already scored twice in three games this season.
