Sam Larsson seems to be leaving Feyenoord immediately. The Rotterdammers have accepted an offer of about 5 million euros from a Chinese club, Voetbal International reports Wednesday.
The transfer market is still open in China, allowing the 26-year-old Larsson to leave in the middle of the Eredivisie season. It is not known which club it is.
Larsson signed a four-year contract with Feyenoord in the summer of 2017. During his first two years in De Kuip, the attacker was a regular basic player, but this season he has to make do with raids.
Larsson was in the starting line-up last Sunday against Fortuna Sittard due to a serious injury from competitor Luis Sinisterra. The former IFK Göteborg and sc Heerenveen player came to a total of 102 duels, 21 goals and 23 assists at Feyenoord.
During the winter break Feyenoord already let keeper Kenneth Vermeer and midfielders Yassin Ayoub, Liam Kelly and Wouter Burger leave (temporarily). Opposite was the arrival of midfielder Oguzhan Özyakup and striker Róbert Bózenik.
Feyenoord is working on a strong series under trainer Dick Advocaat. The team from Rotterdam has climbed to third place in the Eredivisie and will be visiting PSV on Sunday - most likely without Larsson.
