Red Bull says that work is being done on the wheel suspension of the RB16. Takes a little longer than expected. Chances are that Albon will stop driving this morning, but they are doing their best. Verstappen can drive as usual this afternoon. # F1 Testing

Still 1 hour and 55 minutes - Code red. Sebastian Vettel spins hard off the track and manages to keep his car out of the wall, but it also causes a lot of gravel on the track. The session is stopped so that the marshals can clean the asphalt in peace.

    Formula 1 · 2 hours ago

2 more hours - Red Bull Racing may not be in action for lunch due to a problem with the suspension, the team informed us in the paddock. The Alex Albon counter is only on one installation round. Max Verstappen is expected to take action later today.

    Formula 1 · 2 hours ago

Another 2 hours and 15 minutes - Lance Stroll took a good seat in his Racing Point and clocked the fastest time of the day with 1.17.787. The Canadian uses the C3 band.

  • Formula 1 · 2 hours ago

Another 2 hours and 27 minutes - Alex Albon is not voluntarily in the pits that long. Red Bull has moved the screens for the pit box. This is only permitted if the floor has been removed from the car. Not an ideal start to the second test week for the Max Verstappen team.

    Formula 1 · 3 hours ago

Sebastian Vettel currently occupies second place on the times list.

You should pay attention to this during the last test days
Formula 1 drivers will be competing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this week during the final three test days in preparation for the coming season. What should you pay attention to? (1/5) 👇

    Formula 1 · 5 hours ago

More focus on racing and qualification simulations
In the first three days some teams already did a simulation of a race, but in the second week we will see this much more. The drivers are then sent on the road with the right amount of fuel to last more than sixty laps. In this way a better picture emerges of how the car, and in particular the tires, behave with more weight (fuel) on board over a larger number of laps. In addition, the teams also do qualification simulations, with little gasoline and the softest tires. With this type of simulation, it is important to closely follow what the drivers do before start-finish. (2/5)

New parts are already appearing on many cars
In 2019, Mercedes made the fur off by appearing in the tests with a largely renewed car in the second week. The reigning champion had already trickled through that it would hardly do this in 2020 or hardly. But you can count on new wings or other adapted parts of the bodywork appearing here and there. McLaren hinted that he had traveled to Barcelona with a basic car last week. There is a good chance that we will already see several updates there in week two. Some small or larger changes can be expected on every car. (3/5)

    Formula 1 · 5 hours ago

    What is Ferrari doing?
In the first three days the Ferrari drivers hinted that the winter tests will be tackled differently this year, after last year's lightning speed and (it later turned out to be unfairly) seen as the title favorite. Part of that approach seems to be in how the engine is used. According to various rumors, it has not yet run at peak power. Nevertheless, one broke, but Ferrari said that this was not caused by a fundamental problem. Ferrari is clearly playing hide and seek based on lap times. The question is how much. (4/5)

    Formula 1 · 5 hours ago

Does the Red Bull car have superior roadholding?
Last week it already seeped through that the handling of the RB16 in the fast runners and on parts where the car must quickly change direction is sensational. Verstappen and Albon agreed that the car is more planted than its predecessor. The car is better pushed on the asphalt and can therefore go through the corners faster. If Red Bull has indeed succeeded in creating a true grip monster, it could well be a fun season for Dutch fans. So it is important to compare the sector times and longer runs of Red Bull with the competition. (5/5)
