The 32-year-old Russian is the winner of five singles Grand Slam tournaments, as well as 39 WTA tournaments, 36 of which are singles. She also won the 2004 WTA Final Tournament.

As part of the Russian national team, she won the Federation Cup in 2008, and also became the silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games.

Sharapova served a 15-month suspension for violating anti-doping rules, after which, in 2017, she returned to the court, after which she managed to win only one tournament.

Earlier it was reported that Sharapova dropped to 371st place in the WTA rating.
