The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed on Wednesday that it has registered the appeal of Manchester City, which challenges its exclusion for two years from the European Football Cups for having broken the rules of financial fair play.

"The appeal is directed against the decision of the judgment chamber of the Commission for the financial control of the clubs (ICFC) of February 14, 2020", indicated the CAS in a press release, explaining that it is "not possible" for the time being to indicate when it will make its decision.

On 14 February, the UEFA financial gendarme decided to exclude the defending English champion for the next two seasons of the European Cups, subject to his sanction of a fine of 30 million euros. The Mancunian club, still in contention in C1 and current 2nd in the English championship, had immediately announced that it was going to appeal to the CAS.
