Inter-Sampdoria was one of four Serie A matches not played in Italy on Sunday, due to the increasing number of coronavirus infections.

Now Inter is suffering from yet another virus effect. On Monday evening, Uefa announced that Thursday's return match in the Europa League against the Bulgarian Ludogorets will be played in front of empty stands due to the virus outbreak, writes Football Channel.

Ludogorets, who lost the first meeting with 0-2 at home, has made an official request to the European Football Association (Uefa) and Inter, to clarify the situation in the Lombardy region and specifically Milan. On its website, the Razgrad club writes that more than 600 fans are expected to travel to the match and that the vast majority have already bought air tickets, while some plan to go to Milan by bus.

There may also be talk of games before empty stands in Serie A. League chairman Paolo Dal Pinto on Monday wrote a letter to the government asking that more matches not be canceled, but rather played without an audience. Even in the league game, the schedule can be tough to put together, as the domestic leagues must be completed by May 24 before the summer's European finals.

Already on Tuesday night Napoli and Barcelona meet in the Champions League. The match in Naples is expected to be implemented as planned, as it is mainly in northern Italy that the corona virus has spread.

- There is also discussion about Juventus match in Lyon on Wednesday (Champions League, ed. Note). It has been said that you are not so keen that there will be about 3,000 fans from Turin who may be carrying the infection. All the time you notice that the worries are increasing, says Wegerup.

Seven people in Italy have been killed because of the corona virus, Italian authorities said on Monday.
