Max Verstappen comes into action every week during the test days in Barcelona. The Dutchman changes after lunch with his Red Bull Racing teammate Alexander Albon.
Verstappen will ride the afternoon session on Wednesday, Thursday the morning session and Friday afternoon again on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the first test week was held last week.
The 22-year-old Dutchman then took action on Wednesday and Friday morning and, together with Albon, recorded a total of 471 laps, with which they only had to tolerate the Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton / Valtteri Bottas (494).
Bottas clocked everyone's fastest time. On Friday, the Finn set the second best time ever in Barcelona: 1.15.732. With 1.15.511 (driven last year) he already had the record time on the Spanish circuit to his name.
Verstappen said afterwards that he was satisfied with the course of the first test week. "We have done a good number of laps. For the first week that is the most important. We are not really busy with lap times yet."
After the second test week, the drivers prepare for the start of the new Formula 1 season. The first race is on Sunday, March 15 and is traditionally held in Australia.
