Chinanews.net Client, February 25th. Beijing time, the International Table Tennis Federation announced that the 2020 World Table Tennis Team Championships originally scheduled to be held in Busan, South Korea from March 22nd to 29th will be postponed to June 21st- Held on the 28th.

It is reported that the ITTF was informed last Friday of a new crown pneumonia outbreak in Busan, the venue of the event. Subsequently, ITTF senior management held an emergency meeting with the Korean Table Tennis Association and representatives of Busan to discuss the situation of the Asian World Bank 2020 Team World Table Tennis Championships.

The following decisions were made and have been approved by the ITTF Executive Committee and the parties in Busan:

1. The postponement of the group World Table Tennis Championships originally scheduled for March 22-29;

2. The event is tentatively postponed until June 21-28, and the situation in the coming weeks will be closely monitored.

"Given the uncertainty and variability of the current domestic epidemic situation in Korea, the ITTF makes a decision to postpone the event from the perspective of ensuring the health and safety of players, staff and fans." ITTF wrote.
