Henrik Lundqvist has been king of Manhattan for 15 seasons but has recently become less relevant in the team's rebuilding. The 37-year-old was missed for the first time in last week's game against Carolina, and it has been rumored that a possible strike.

- My job is to come here and give everything every day. That's what I've been doing for the past few weeks and be sure to be ready when I get the chance to play.

On Monday, the transfer window closed and Lundqvist remains in New York. At the same time, the club announced that the 24-year-old goalkeeper, Igor Sjestiorkin, had been involved in a car accident and will be away from play for a couple of weeks.

Igor Sjestiorkin and Russian compatriot Alexandar Georgijev have recently been Rangers' first choice and with Sjestiorkin on the injury list increases the chance for Lundqvist to have more playing time.

- If I'm not playing, I'm just trying to be as supportive as possible for those who play.

"Henke" has another year left on his contract and what happens after this season is still unclear and something is on the retina of "The King", who with 21 innings left only played 28 games. His lowest score for matches is 43, from the 2012/13 season.

- After the season we obviously have things to talk about, my role and and I fit in. Right now, my focus is on working hard and being ready.
