Södertälje product Carl Hagelin, 31, celebrated his greatest triumphs in the Pittsburgh Penguins. With them he won the Stanley Cup both 2016 and 2017.

For a year now, however, he plays in the Washington Capitals. Tonight just met Washington and Pittsburgh. And then it was Hagelin's previous team that won.

Pressed Return

An even and exciting match ended at 4-3 for the home team, after two goals by Hagelin.

The first, which meant 3-2 to Washington, came in at 4.40 in the third and final period, when Hagelin managed to push a return in a tangled situation in front of goal.

Hörnqvist also netted

The second came in the final minute of the match, when he was released by Nicklas Bäckström and put the puck in the open goal for 5–3 - which was the final result.

Hagelin was not the only Swedish to score in the match. With barely five minutes left of the second period, Patric Hörnqvist acknowledged to 1-1. Kris Letang shot a shot from blue. The puck stopped in front of goal, where Hörnqvist stood in the position he has stood so many times in his career, grabbed the puck and put it in goal.

But Washington then won 5-3 and obviously Washington took over the lead in the Metropolitan Division from just Pittsburgh.
