Erik Gustafsson leaves the US for Canada. The Swedish back star, whose contract expires this summer, is ready for Calgary Flames where he becomes a teammate with, among others, Elias Lindholm, Mikael Backlund and Rasmus Andersson. Chicago gets a third pick in the draft in exchange.

Christian Djoos, 25, has had a heavy season in the Washington Capitals and mostly spent time in the pharmaceutical team Hershey Bears this season. But now it's over. The slopes are ready for significantly weaker Anaheim Ducks. In exchange for Capital's Daniel Sprong.

The Lucas Wallmark center was part of a big fight between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers. Wallmark leaves Carolina together with Finns Erik Haula and Eetu Luostarinen and Chase Priskie. In exchange Carolina gets Vincent Trocheck.

It was widely rumored that Henrik Lundqvist, who has not had much playing time in the New York Rangers lately, would switch clubs and the rumors intensified when Rangers called for a press conference. But that was not what they wanted to tell, but they announced an extension of Chris Kreider's contract and at the same time the news came that Igor Sjestjorkin had damaged the ribs in a car accident. Former superstar Ilja Kovaltjuk left Montreal for the Washington Capitals and is in the process of becoming a "Russian colony" with Alexander Ovetjkin, Yevgeny Kuznetsov, Dimitrij Orlov and Ilja Samsonov. Montreal will receive a draft choice in the third round of 2020. Kovaltjuk is currently receiving salary from four NHL clubs.

Finnish Sami Vatanen leaves the New Jersey Devils for the Carolina Hurricanes where two of the stars are his compatriots Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teräväinen.
