The reason for the player flight is that Kungsbacka DFF midway through last year's season drastically lowered player compensation. In practice, this meant that elite players had to pay to be allowed to play in the damall Swan.

- The club drew on a poor economy already in the elite with many and long journeys. When they then joined the Allsvenskan in 2019 and were forced to play home matches in Varberg because the stadium in Kungsbacka lacks electricity, the club lost more than half a million in increased costs and missing sponsorship income, says new chairman Fredrik Kessler, who has only been two weeks in Kungsbacka DFF.

He took over an association without any players but who now has the economy in balance. The club was close to being closed when the entire previous board resigned in early February. Since then, Kessler and coach Lundkvist have got five players together, the most recent being completed yesterday.

- We hope to have another three players ready in the next few days, but this is a huge challenge where our biggest opponent is the time, says Fredrik Kessler.
