It was loud, it was difficult and the limit of time errors narrowly set. Then a lot of pick picks are usually offered. The obstacle builders had to bend on their backs. Douglas Lindelöw tore the entire tree combination and couldn't pass the time. Experienced professional Kevin Staut bombed four obstacles.

And so it went on.

Only six equipages out of 32 made the jump - half were Swedes: Peder Fredricson, Fredrik Jönsson and Henrik von Eckermann.

The first ride without demolition invited the well-regarded German Daniel Deusser and Calisto. He was so close to being joined by Stephanie Holmén and Flip's Little Sparrow for jumping, but the national team rider's evening was ruined on the very last obstacle.

Rightful for "RGB"

Rolf-Göran Bengtsson won the GP jump as the first Swedish rider in 1996. He followed up with a new victory in 2005 and surprisingly struck again last year. A possible fourth title may come in the future - but you can't get much closer to a jump. Bengtsson and stallion Ermindo did just about everything right, but were 43 hundredths too late over the digital finish line.

- I knew I was in danger, I rode a jump too much between the third and fourth obstacles. I didn't really get started properly and tried barely in, but unfortunately 43 hundred parts were missing.

- That is how life is, he tells SVT.

Instead, the Italian Emanuele Gaudiano organized the jumping and soon after him Fredricson Christian K took to the duel of victory. If Bengtsson had the margins against them, they were on Fredrik Jönsson's side. On the championship horse Cold Play, he moved on with 21 hundred parts on the right side.

Save at Deuter's time

As the last rider, Henrik von Eckermann had the chance to join the national teammates Fredricson and Jönsson in the victory hunt. And as he and Castello took it - at the fastest time in the basic round. It gave him the advantage of going out last in the jump.

Deusser was first out there. Flawless in 38.52 seconds. Gaudiano tore himself away. Fredricson got a hit. Jönsson as well. The Irishman Denis Lynch went clean, but slower than Deusser.

Here Fredricson tears in the jump

Deusser or von Eckermann? German or Swedish?

Von Eckermann gave the iron, but tore two obstacles and came fifth. Fredricson took third place behind Deusser and Lynch.

- The horse has been gone for a while and we have worked our way back. I'm proud. I've been close to winning here a few times, says Daniel Deusser, who received SEK 220,000 for the evening job.

"You have to take risks"

Fredricson was, of course, disappointed.

- I had the hope of winning the class and had the time (fastest jumping), but a boom today fell. You have to take some risks when driving fast. He jumps nicely, but it's clear that you want to win such a class, Fredricson tells SVT.

On Sunday, the World Cup qualifier will be decided.
